Enrichment and Test Prep Programs

Hello Parents and Students!

Enroll now for the Fall 2022 semester! Registration for our Enrichment and Test Prep classes is still open! Our small classes are taught by instructors who are not only experts in their subject area, but also care about their students and will ensure that your student is receiving the education, care, and attention he/she needs. Our Fall 2022 Writing Enrichment Courses are available on Thursdays from 6 – 8 PM and Saturdays from 9 – 11 AM. These challenging courses help students build and develop their reading and writing skills at every level. We would like to highlight a few of our courses:

Writing 1 & 2 (Thursdays): Students will analyze textual details and make complex arguments in multi-paragraph essays. Emphasis is placed on critical and analytical thinking skills in addition to the writing process.
Intensive Essay Writing 1 & 2 (Thursdays) / Intensive Essay Writing 3 (Saturdays): Students will practice writing different types of academic essays, focusing on structure, content, style, and mechanics. They will engage in one-on-one teacher conferences to provide individualized guidance and commentary.

Our Fall 2022 Math Enrichment Courses are available on Tuesdays from 6 – 8 PM and Saturdays from 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM. These engaging courses are designed so that students build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and skills. We would like to highlight a few of our courses:

Math 4 (Saturdays)
Math 5 (Tuesdays)
Pre-Algebra 1/Math 6 (Tuesdays & Saturdays): Students will gain an introduction to algebraic expressions, writing algebraic expressions from verbal phrases/problems, simplifying algebraic expression and solving one-step equations/inequalities, properties of exponents, scientific notation and operations, and linear relationships.
Pre-Algebra 2/IM (Tuesdays & Saturdays): Students will understand proportional relationships, rational number operations, geometric relationships (i.e. measurements, angles), statistics and probability, functional relationships, and linear equations.
Algebra 1 (Saturdays): Students will be exposed to topics including an introduction to quadratic functions and an introduction to one-variable statistics. Word problems and problem-solving skills will be emphasized.
Geometry (Saturdays): Students will cover topics including Objectives Area of shapes, Pythagorean Theorem, area of composite figures, Area of Hexagons, rotations of two dimensional figures, parallel and perpendicular lines, equations of lines, coordinate geometry, quadrilaterals and triangles in the coordinate grid, as well as area and perimeter in the coordinate grid.

Join us for our Elementary (Gr. 3-4), Intermediate (Gr. 5-6), and Advanced (Gr. 7-9) Test Strategy Prep classes where students will learn the best test-taking strategies and skills they need for success on standardized tests, as well as build overall confidence in testing. These skills are crucial for students throughout the entirety of their academic careers.

We will have both virtual and in-person options for Test Prep this fall! Classes begin September 14th for our Intermediate and Advanced classes and September 29th for our Elementary classes.

About Us

Since 1998, Aplus learning Center, located in Rockville, Maryland, USA, has been providing quality educational programs for 3rd to 12th grade students to enhance their academics. What makes us different from other learning centers is a group of certified professional teachers whose extensive experience and commitment has helped students excel.

Our Programs

APLUS offers a wide spectrum of enrichment programs, including Math workshops, Writing workshops, Math Olympiad, etc. Most enrichment courses run 16 weeks in Fall and Spring semesters, respectively.

Enrichment

APLUS was founded in 1998 to provide a first-rate supplemental education to students with high aspirations. The APLUS program is best known for its (1) highly qualified teachers, (2) small class size, and (3) advanced curricula. Courses are offered year-round and include elementary mathematics, pre-algebra, geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, pre-calculus, critical reading and writing, grammar, and writing workshops.

Academic Summer Camp

APLUS was founded in 1998 to provide a first-rate supplemental education to students with high aspirations. The APLUS program is best known for its (1) highly qualified teachers, (2) small class size, and (3) advanced curricula. Courses are offered year-round and include elementary mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Critical Reading and Writing, Grammar, Writing Workshops, SAT and PSAT prep, private school entrance prep (ISEE or SSAT), and magnet school and private school prep.

Test Prep (3rd/5th/8th Grade/SAT/ACT)

Our Test Prep classes are designed to help students hone their test-taking skills and strategies and prepare themselves for the different testing situations that they may encounter throughout their academic career. Classes include mock tests, test reviews, and opportunities to practice various types of test questions. Through targeted practice, students are able to build their confidence and achieve optimal test results.

Tutoring

We understand that every student has unique academic needs, and these cannot be addressed with a “one-size-fits- all” model of instruction. At APLUS Tutoring, your child will receive individual attention from one of our many knowledgeable, experienced, and professional tutors. Sessions are tailored to your child’s specific needs, where academic growth and intrinsic motivation are fostered.
