As the APLUS Fall session and school semester comes to a close, there are a few things you should be taking note of, including how your student is doing academically. The University of Southern California recently published a paper that claims grade inflation and pandemic leniency are shielding the true extent to which children have fallen behind and that many parents are actually unaware of this trend. Thus, we HIGHLY recommend that you register for our academic programs this Spring, to sharpen your student’s Math and Reading/Writing skills. Here are some highlights for the upcoming semester:
1. Math and Writing Enrichment: We are looking forward to having some new students join our robust enrichment programs in the new year! If you are looking to supplement what you’re already learning in school, or you want to work on the areas that you may be struggling with, our enrichment programs are for you. Our Spring Enrichment classes start Saturday, February 10. If you are a new student, contact us about taking a complimentary placement test.
4. SAT/PSAT Test Prep: As some of you may know, the SAT is going digital starting in 2024! Our SAT 1600 course starts this Saturday, February 3 and we are offering an AM section as well as a PM section. Additionally, our SAT Boot Camp starts this Saturday, February 3 and will run for 5 weeks until the March 9 real SAT test. Not sure about which APLUS SAT course is right for your student? Small Business Spotlight

Hello Parents and Students!
I hope this email finds you well! Can you believe we are already halfway through the month of March?! I am writing to you today because one of my goals for this year is to keep you in the loop, as you are an important part of our APLUS community.
First, I want to say thank you for your continuous support of our small (but mighty!) learning center. Whether it’s leaving a review on our Google page, or referring us to your friends, your support has been truly critical during these challenging times and for that, I am incredibly thankful and appreciative.
Next, as you may know, March is Women’s History Month and I am so excited to announce that APLUS has been spotlighted this month in Montgomery Community Media‘s Small Business Highlight for Women’s History Month. Please check out the video below and share with your networks! I know there are so many more students, parents, and families that we have yet to reach.
Part of championing the next generation means that we are constantly seeking ways to be involved with students in our community. Next week, I have a wonderful opportunity to participate as a judge at the annual Business Pitch Challenge, where MCPS high school students present their entrepreneurial ideas (think of it as a mini “Shark Tank”) before a panel. Be sure to tune in to see who the winners are! Additionally, this summer, APLUS will be hosting several MCPS juniors and seniors as part of the 2023 RISE Summer Program. Students will be able to gain real-world experience in the areas of education, business development, and marketing. MCPS is currently looking for more hosts, so if your organization or company is interested, please consider applying.
Speaking of summer, do you already have plans for your child(ren)? To help prevent the “summer slide” and further COVID learning loss, APLUS will be providing many summer camp options this year, including our renowned summer academic camp. Session 1 will start from 6/29 – 7/21 (with 7/3 and 7/4 off for the holiday). Session 2 will be 7/24 – 8/11. For more information about all of our summer courses, check out our course catalog. Don’t miss our Summer Open House on Saturday, 6/3, between 11am-3pm on site at our Rockville location. Please RSVP here so we know to expect you! We will also be hosting several webinars for our parents as well as an Executive Functioning workshop for middle school students transitioning into high school this fall. About Us
Since 1998, APLUS Education, located in Rockville, Maryland, USA, has been providing quality educational programs for 3rd to 12th grade students to enhance their academics. What makes us different from other learning centers is a group of certified professional teachers whose extensive experience and commitment has helped students excel.
Our Programs
APLUS offers a wide spectrum of enrichment programs, including Math workshops, Writing workshops, Math Olympiad, etc. Most enrichment courses run 16 weeks in Fall and Spring semesters, respectively.
Enrichment
APLUS was founded in 1998 to provide a first-rate supplemental education to students with high aspirations. The APLUS program is best known for its (1) highly qualified teachers, (2) small class size, and (3) advanced curricula. Courses are offered year-round and include elementary mathematics, pre-algebra, geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, pre-calculus, critical reading and writing, grammar, and writing workshops.
Academic Summer Camp
APLUS was founded in 1998 to provide a first-rate supplemental education to students with high aspirations. The APLUS program is best known for its (1) highly qualified teachers, (2) small class size, and (3) advanced curricula. Courses are offered year-round and include elementary mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Pre-calculus, Critical Reading and Writing, Grammar, Writing Workshops, SAT and PSAT prep, private school entrance prep (ISEE or SSAT), and magnet school and private school prep.
Test Prep (3rd/5th/8th Grade/SAT/ACT)
Our Test Prep classes are designed to help students hone their test-taking skills and strategies and prepare themselves for the different testing situations that they may encounter throughout their academic career. Classes include mock tests, test reviews, and opportunities to practice various types of test questions. Through targeted practice, students are able to build their confidence and achieve optimal test results.
Tutoring
We understand that every student has unique academic needs, and these cannot be addressed with a “one-size-fits- all” model of instruction. At APLUS Tutoring, your child will receive individual attention from one of our many knowledgeable, experienced, and professional tutors. Sessions are tailored to your child’s specific needs, where academic growth and intrinsic motivation are fostered.
