Last Chance for TJ Prep
The FCPS School Board has finalized the dates for TJ applications and the virtual essay administration, and time is running out for students who plan to apply to TJ this year.
Fairfax Collegiate offers two prep courses to help students understand the details of the new admissions process and get ready for its written components: TJ Boot Camp – Personal Statements 7-8 and TJ Boot Camp – Problem-Solving Essay 7-8.
Families may enroll in either course depending on their child’s specific needs, or they may enroll in both for additional practice.
In both courses, daily instruction and feedback are provided to support students in efficiently writing organized, informative, and grammatically correct essays under time constraints. Both courses also feature information about the opportunities available to TJ students, and a chance to hear from TJ alumni about their experiences.
TJ Boot Camp – Personal Statements 7-8
Middle school students prepare for the Thomas Jefferson High School admissions process, with an emphasis on crafting strong personal statements.
Students practice answering a variety of Student Portrait Sheet essay prompts and learn what the TJ Admissions Committee is looking for in their essays. They also learn a framework for responding to the Problem-Solving Essay question, which requires a written answer and explanation for a challenging mathematics or science-related problem.

Everyone loves it when people come together and share views. Great site, keep it up!
Having read this I thought it was rather enlightening. I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this information together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
