JOB OPENING
JOB OPENING: Software Architect (CR0422-12-PE-GD-DC)
Location: Washington, DC
Job Description
Crown seeks an experienced SW architect to plan, design, and implement a cloud based (Amazon Web Services) high-fidelity simulation of the United States Air Traffic system. The simulation will use flight dynamic models, weather models, and historical data to depict realistic scenarios of air traffic situations for the purpose of training FAA air traffic flow control specialists in the techniques used to effectively regulate air traffic in the National Air Space.
While much of the code base already exists, some key elements such as the orchestration engine and user interfaces will need to be developed. Existing code will need to be migrated to the cloud, data structures defined and implemented, and adapters developed to interface the existing applications to the new cloud-based infrastructure.
When completed, this new application will allow FAA trainees to investigate “What if…” scenarios and provide a much-needed training capability for our FAA customer. The successful applicant will work with an existing team of subject matter experts and software developers and provide SW development and cloud hosting expertise to help ensure the success of this important project.
