活动背景:

在海外,我们越来越频繁地发现中国传统美食的身影。随着中国春节的临近,我们特地举办本场活动,系统介绍中国传统饮食文化,以及北美身边的春节元素。我们诚挚地邀请您的参与,并请与身边的朋友一同分享(本活动将全程以英文进行,参与者无需任何中文基础)

  1. 探索中国八大菜系的独特之处及主要烹饪风格,从四川的火辣,到广东精致的小点。我们将为您介绍独特的地方特色风味。

2. 深挖中华美食文化与新春佳节之间的联系,理解食物如何在新年庆祝活动中扮演核心角色;

3. 例举我们在北美当地找到的中国传统美食,向您介绍这些食物蕴含的吉祥寓意;

这场线上活动是学习了解中国饮食的独特机会,尤其恰逢春节,更有意义,让我们一起感受舌尖上的文化。

讲座嘉宾:

天津国际汉语学院(之线上“Preplingo中文课”项目)的全职对外汉语教师——紫薇老师。持汉办对外汉语教师资格证、英语教师资格证双证。擅长根据不同年龄水平学生实际情况,调整教学方法及风格,具有丰富的汉语水平考试(HSK)辅导及商务汉语教学经验。 紫薇老师多才多艺,掌握京剧、钢琴、葫芦丝、手工、茶艺等多种中华才艺;教学风格独到、幽默、内容丰富。针对学生不同性格、不同年龄、不同文化背景给予不同的教学方法,学生遍布30多个国家。

参与对象:

这场活动主要针对高校学生及成人而安排。如果你的年龄偏小,但是对中华美食很感兴趣,欢迎一起参与!

As Chinese New Year approaches, join us for an immersive journey into the heart of Chinese cuisine.

Delve into the flavors, history, and cultural significance of 8 distinct regional cuisines, and discover how food plays a pivotal role in the biggest festival of the year. We will also introduce you  the elements of the Spring Festival around North America that you might have seen in your local stores!

Highlights of the event include:

1. Discover the 8 main Chinese cuisines, spanning  from the fiery dishes of Sichuan to the delicate flavors of Cantonese cuisine. We will guide you through the uniqueness and flavors that define each region.

2. Unearth the connection between Chinese cuisine and Chinese New Year(CNY) traditions, understand how food takes center stage in CNY festivities;

3. Explore the significance of iconic CNY dishes in your local stores, each carrying auspicious meanings;

This webinar is a unique opportunity to savor the essence of China’s diverse and delicious culinary landscape during the festive season.

Guest Speaker:

Our guest speaker is Ms Zhang, a full-time Chinese teacher from Tianjin International Chinese College (also known as “Preplingo Chinese Class” as its online program.) She holds qualifications to teach both Chinese and English as the 2nd language. Ms Zhang excels at adapting her teaching methods and style based on the age and proficiency levels of her students. She has extensive experience in teaching Hanyu Shuiping Kaosh (HSK), which is the standardized test of Standard Chinese language proficiency of Mainland China for non-native learners, and business Chinese.

Additionally, Ms Zhang is multi-talented, with skills in Peking opera, piano, hulusi (a Chinese musical instrument), handicrafts, and tea ceremony.

Participants:

All ages are welcome, but we have designed this workshop with a focus on college students and adults.
