Job Description

CROWN CONSULTING, INC. is searching for a dynamic Human Resources Manager/Recruiter to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate policies, activities, and recruit for a rapidly growing, multi-state government contractor based in Arlington, VA, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, coordinates interviews with management and contract partners, and hires new staff ensuring all clearances have been properly obtained
  • Establishes DEI initiatives to help assure a diverse workforce
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance with government contracting
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department
  • Responsible for coordinating company’s annual performance evaluations and possible pay increases
  • Manages annual benefit recompetes and current benefits plans in place.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance for a multi-state employer
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Helps facilitate professional development, training, and certification activities for employees
  • Performs other duties as required

JOB OPENING: Aeronautics Research Engineer/Analyst

Job Description

CROWN CONSULTING, INC. is seeking an Aeronautics Research Engineer/Analyst to join our Aerospace and Advanced Transportation business unit to contribute to several current and prospective efforts, many centered around AAM. Typical projects include:

  • Concepts of operation and use case development
  • Aviation infrastructure analysis (such as AAM vertiport siting)
  • Airspace analysis
  • Economic impact analysis
  • Real-world implementations of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and AAM use cases
  • Aeronautics strategy development including formulating future visions, goals, and research portfolios
  • Knowledge elicitation (surveys, interviews, workshops) with government and industry stakeholders

Qualifications

  • A B.S. degree in engineering, science, mathematics, computer science, or other related discipline is required; an M.S. or PhD degree is a favorable differentiator. 
  • An academic and/or professional background in aeronautics/aviation is highly preferred and beneficial; a strong interest and desire to learn and grow in this area is critical.
  • We are targeting early and mid-career professionals. Nominally, 2 – 10 years of experience is desirable, but we are flexible in seeking outstanding candidates.
  • Experience in leading analysis teams and/or applying project management skills is beneficial.  Such experience may be at the sub-task level or overall client task level.
  • Familiarity with accessing and analyzing aviation data (demand data, operational data, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as are data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required. 
  • Software expertise, software development, visualization, and modeling & simulation skills (Tableau, MATLAB, C++, Java, Python, Visual Basic, machine learning, etc.) are a favorable differentiator.
  • Ability to obtain a Suitability for Position of Public Trust clearance is required. 
  • The salary for this position is flexible and will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and educational qualifications. The expected salary range is $85,000 – $145,000.

JOB OPENING: Software Architect

Location: Washington, DC

Job Description

CROWN CONSULTING, INC. seeks an experienced SW architect to plan, design, and implement a cloud based (Amazon Web Services) high-fidelity simulation of the United States Air Traffic system. The simulation will use flight dynamic models, weather models, and historical data to depict realistic scenarios of air traffic situations for the purpose of training FAA air traffic flow control specialists in the techniques used to effectively regulate air traffic in the National Air Space.

While much of the code base already exists, some key elements such as the orchestration engine and user interfaces will need to be developed. Existing code will need to be migrated to the cloud, data structures defined and implemented, and adapters developed to interface the existing applications to the new cloud-based infrastructure.

When completed, this new application will allow FAA trainees to investigate “What if…” scenarios and provide a much-needed training capability for our FAA customer. The successful applicant will work with an existing team of subject matter experts and software developers and provide SW development and cloud hosting expertise to help ensure the success of this important project.

Qualifications

The selected candidate will be a member of a small team of creative and energized developers who are engaged in development, test, and support of a GIS based application. Knowledge of GIS and supporting databases is a plus.

Much of this work can be performed off-site as the team promotes a flexible work environment, which does include periodic meeting and group working sessions in our downtown Rosslyn facility if you live in the DC metropolitan area.
