Job Description
CROWN CONSULTING, INC. seeks an experienced SW architect to plan, design, and implement a cloud based (Amazon Web Services) high-fidelity simulation of the United States Air Traffic system. The simulation will use flight dynamic models, weather models, and historical data to depict realistic scenarios of air traffic situations for the purpose of training FAA air traffic flow control specialists in the techniques used to effectively regulate air traffic in the National Air Space.
While much of the code base already exists, some key elements such as the orchestration engine and user interfaces will need to be developed. Existing code will need to be migrated to the cloud, data structures defined and implemented, and adapters developed to interface the existing applications to the new cloud-based infrastructure.
When completed, this new application will allow FAA trainees to investigate “What if…” scenarios and provide a much-needed training capability for our FAA customer. The successful applicant will work with an existing team of subject matter experts and software developers and provide SW development and cloud hosting expertise to help ensure the success of this important project.
Qualifications
Required:
- BS in Computer Science (advanced degree preferred)
- 11+ years of relevant experience
- DevOps
- Agile

JOB OPENING: Full Stack Developer
Location: Arlington, VA
Job Description
CROWN CONSULTING, INC. is seeking a Full-Stack Developer with extensive Java-script skills and knowledge of modern frameworks such as Kendo UI or Django. The selected candidate will be a member of a small team of creative and energized developers who are engaged in development, test, and support of a GIS based application. Knowledge of GIS and supporting databases is a plus.
Much of this work can be performed off-site as the team promotes a flexible work environment, which does include periodic meeting and group working sessions in our downtown Rosslyn facility if you live in the DC metropolitan area. If you do not live in the DC area, you will not be required to travel. Rosslyn, conveniently located across the river from Washington DC, presents a dynamic urban environment teaming with diverse professionals. Qualifications
We seek candidates that have a degree in computer science (either BS or MS) and at least 5 years of Software Development work.
